Holidays in Talas

Immerse yourself in ancient legends

Talas is a small city that is “cut off” from the rest of the regions by mountain ranges. It is called the land of “Manas” – the hero from the national epic.

Adventures begin on the way, because to get to Talas from Bishkek you need to drive several steep serpentines, on the way through the Too-Ashuu pass.

Tours:

First of all, we will go to the Manas kumbez.

According to legend, an epic hero is buried here. Next to his grave is a museum dedicated to the history of the creation of the Manas epic.

It is located behind a hill that was used as an observation deck by sentries guarding the valley.

It is believed that this hill is a man-made object, not a natural one.

Then we will go to see three sites of the ancient man – Kulan-Sai, Terek-Sai and Kurgan-Tash.

Rock paintings and petroglyphs were found there.

Another attraction of Talas is a forest park of poplars, willows and birches, spread out on the branches of the river flowing nearby.

Be sure to visit the brick church built in 1889. By the way, in 1375 Talas was noted in the atlas compiled by Abram Crescas as a holy city for the Jews.

And before leaving the beautiful city, we will visit the settlement of Ak-Tube, located east of Talas.

In 751, a major battle took place here between the troops of the Abbasid Caliphate and the Türgesh Khaganate, on the one hand, and the army of Tang China for control of Central Asia, on the other.

The alley of heroes is also located there, the alley of bais and noble leaders of the clans.
